Spring Reading Thing

Well, I went back and forth on wether or not to join in the Spring Reading Thing hosted by Katrina at Callapidder Days. I haven’t been getting very much reading in in the last month or so. I started out the year on a whirlwind. In January I read six books. But life just seems to be taking up so much of my time lately! 🙂 I’ve started several books in the last month and a half and I’m almost done with one of them. I started a new book last night and I can’t wait to finish it. So, anyway, I’m going to keep my list simple so that I don’t feel defeated at the end! 😉 I don’t read a lot, ok hardly any, non-fiction – I’m a fiction girl all the way, but I want to expand my horizons so I’m going to put a few books of non-fiction on my list! Well, here goes:

Fiction:

  • Redeeming Love by Francine Rivers*
  • A Voice In the Wind by Francine Rivers (borrowed from my neighbor too long ago)
  • Hanna’s Daughters by Marianne Fredriksson**

Non-fiction:

  • The Jesus I  Never Knew by Philip Yancey
  • The Five Love Languages by Gary Chapman*
  • Babyproofing Your Marriage by Stacie Cockrell, Cathy O’Neill, & Julia Stone**

Short and sweet but hopefully very doable. I love to read and have really been looking forward to the Spring Reading Thing! Don’t forget to stop over at Katrina’s place to see what everyone else plans to read this Spring! Happy Spring Reading Everyone! 🙂

*These books I’ve already started.

**These books were won at two very special women’s blogs! And, I’m passing them along when I’m done!

  1. I see this logo all over the place 🙂 – I am not doing well when it comes to reading plans…I like your list a lot. I like reading Francine Rivers too…

Blessings on your day and always.

PS: Thank you for your kind comment this morning.

  2. I’ve seen it around a lot too and was wondering about it!
What a lovely blog you have! 🙂

  3. Glad you decided to join in! There’s no hard and fast rules about finishing, just about doing what you can! And don’t feel like you have to finish the one I sent if you can’t get into it, I had a hard time with it.
And you did better than me, you put some non-fiction on your list and I put NONE! Happy reading Becky.

  4. WOO HOO! You are reading Redeeming Love! It is hands down one of THE! BEST! BOOKS! I’VE! EVER! READ! I can’t wait until you finish it. Get your Kleenex ready! I have to stop now or I won’t be able to hold these beans – I’ll spill them!

  5. I love everything by Francine Rivers, but Redeeming Love is my absolute favorite. You will cry and cry and cry and you will *never* view your relationship with the Lord the same way.

Welcome to the Spring Reading Thing!

  6. The Five Love Languages is a fabulous read. I am curious to know what Babyproofing your Marriage is about? Interesting title.

I love to read, but I have found I am not reading nearly as much as I used to since I started blogging 🙂 !!

  7. Redeeming Love is such a great book. I am sure many will agree. I enjoyed The Five Languages of Love. Happy Reading!

  8. I’m a fiction girl, too, definitely! That’s one reason I do these challenges — to make sure I get through all the non-fiction that I should and want to, but just never do. Thanks for being part of the Spring Reading Thing. Enjoy those books!

  9. Redeeming love is such an awesome book!

  13. i’m also a fiction girl (but i did put two non-fiction on my SRT list)! redeeming love seems to be a well-received book; be sure to let us know what you think of it.

    happy reading!

  14. Great list, Becky, and I know you will enjoy these. I haven’t read Francine Rivers yet, but she’s on my list to try soon. I have such a long reading list! I’ve been on the fence about doing this, and decided that I just couldn’t committ to what I wanted to read for the next 3 months. I’m really enjoying looking at everyone else’s list though, and I hope you will post your thoughts on these as you finish them.

    Happy Reading!
