Halloween Cuteness!!!
November 1, 2007

 I present to you…

The Pretty Witch

The Handsome Dash!

We had a great Halloween! We did a small circle around our neighborhood and the kids are loaded down with a ton of candy! Now, if I can just keep my hands off of it…Yeah, right, who am I kidding??? 😉

You know the one thing we didn’t get done this year was the carving of pumpkins. It’s one of our favorite things and time just slipped away from us. I guess we’ll be doing that this weekend…just for fun!!!

My son had such a good time last night and it was just too cute to hear him say “Tick Teat” at every house and then try to close their doors for them when he was done!!! A friend of my daughters and her two brothers came with us and it was a blast! They were all so cute!

I hope you all had a wonderful Halloween!

I love Halloween, but am so Thankful it is behind us now! I can NOT wait for Thanksgiving…it is my most favorite holiday EVER!!!

Happy Fall Ya’ll!!!

Fall Break
October 5, 2007

My daughter starts her Fall break today when school lets out. So, we’re hopping in the car and heading to Kentucky. My college roomie lives there and we’ll be attending the Apple Festival in her town! I just love the Apple Festival!!! Her parents have never met my kids so it should be a blast! They’ve already got big plans for my little girl. And, she is really excited to go, too!!! So, have a great weekend and we’ll see you back here next week!

I’m baaaack!!!

A vacation with kids, as you all may know, is not a relaxing sort of trip! It is a go, go, go kind of trip! We stayed busy and had a lot of fun. We actually got home on Sunday evening, but I’m still trying to get back on schedule around here.

We stayed in a log cabin in the mountains and it was gorgeous! This photo was taken at the end of our driveway!

The cabin

This photo was taken from the deck. What a view! I just love the mountains and I couldn’t imagine living anywhere else.

The View!

This is a picture taken while we played in the hot tub. My sons first time in one (the heat was turned down, but still warm). He had so much fun splashing in the water! He’s going to be a water lover for sure!

Playing in the hot tub!

We spent two days at Dollywood. Wouldn’t you know that the first day there both of my kids ran a fever and were just feeling crummy. But, they were all better and ready to play on Friday! My little man’s first ride on the little ducks! He loved it!

Little ducks

Here is my nephew and daughter posing with the large veggies! I think my nephew might’ve been a little hungry! 🙂

Those are some HUGE vegetables!

Saturday, after the guys returned from golf, my hubby and I took my nephew and daughter to play some mini-golf. And, oh my, my husband is being attacked by a gator. But, never fear, my daughter will save him!

Oh No!

Sunday, while the guys were golfing AGAIN, my mil and I took the kids to Wonder Works! This place was so much fun.

Wonder Works

We spent four hours there and still didn’t get a chance to see and do everything they had to offer! Me, my daughter, and nephew did play Laser tag and I won!!! 🙂 My daughter was so adorable running around trying to shoot people with her laser gun and that big vest on – I just wish I had a picture of it! There was just so much to do and I hope to go back soon! There wasn’t much for the little man, but he loved dancing on the piano and making music!!!

A Pianist?

We really had a great time, but it was exhausting! It was so nice to get away for a few days and just have fun! It didn’t hurt that I had my mil to help take care of the little one so I could play more with the big kids! But, I’m glad to be back and I hope to talk with you all soon!P.S. Thanks An Ordinary Mom for playing along with the music meme…I loved your answers!

I’m outta here!!!
March 28, 2007

Dear Internet friends,

I’m sorry that I’ve neglected you for a few days. I never meant to hurt you! I’ve just been so busy around here. Really, it’s not you it’s me! But, I just wanted to stop by and let you know that I’m not going to be around for a few more days. I have a much needed out-of-town break scheduled and I really can’t miss it!

Ha! Not that I would want to. My kids, nephew, mil, and I are heading out for a long weekend today! My husband, bil, and fil will be joining us on Friday evening! I have been looking forward to this trip for awhile and I can’t wait to get going. But, there is all this other stuff I have to do before I can leave. You know – packing, cleaning out the van, packing, cleaning up the house, etc! Anyway, I’ve been so busy the past few days that I’ve not had the chance to be on the computer for more than like five minutes at a time. I’ve missed blogging, but it is amazing all the stuff I’ve been able to get done! 😉

I’ll miss you dear friends. No, really, I will. But I should be back Monday to share pictures and hopefully some cute stories!!! Wishing you all a fantabulous week/weekend! Till then internets!

P.S. Ruth played along with the musical meme. Go check it out! I can’t wait to read all the others! Hint, hint, wink, wink! 🙂

I’m Thankful!!!
March 8, 2007

I’m so Thankful that so many of you replied to this post and I just want you to know that I really appreciate your advice! And, I wanted to update you all on the birthday party situation! I decided, with the help of all of your gracious advice, that we are sticking to the original plans. At this moment I don’t plan to confront the other mother either. I prayed about it and considered what all of you had to say and that is where my heart led me. So, this Saturday is the big day and we are all so excited around here. I will definitely let you know how it goes!!! Thank you for your help!

I’m Thankful that we were able to find an affordable ballet class for my daughter. Her first ballet class was Monday night. I have been searching and searching and asking everybody I see for a good studio with a Christian atmosphere. And, I do believe we found the perfect place. It is an Arts Center so they not only offer ballet, but they also offer art classes, photography, foreign language, music – guitar, piano, etc., jazz & ballet. You get discounts for every class that you add and they open their classes to adults. The owners are a family of seven with children ranging from 3 to 13. They homeschool their children and attend the same church that we do. Our church is huge so we would have never known them if I hadn’t asked everybody and their brother where to go!!! So, anyway, my daughter seemed to really really enjoy it. I wasn’t able to sit in the class to observe, but I did peek in the crack of the door a few times. My daughter tends to act really shy when she first meets people and I thought maybe she would be really shy in class! HA! Wouldn’t you know that my daughter talked more than anybody. Not enough to get in trouble – thank goodness! And, she asked the teacher when they would have snack! 🙂 I had to laugh at that. I think she expects a snack everywhere she goes! Needless to say – we will be going back. They have next week off for Spring Break, but it’s back to business the following week! I didn’t have to take my son with us on Monday and I wonder how he’ll do. The class is only 45 minutes long and I’m thinking I should be able to keep him occupied for that long! Wish me luck! 🙂

I’m Thankful that my hubby and I were able to take a leap of faith! My husband starts his new job next Monday! We are both excited, anxious, nervous, scared, and happy. He will be working 8-5 Monday thru Friday which will be so much better than his 10-7 shift he was working. This will give him more time to spend with us and allow him to coach our daughter’s soccer team this year! There are so many positives to the new job and they completely outweigh the negatives. I’m trying hard to just give it all over to God. So, please just keep us in your prayers as we venture into this new part of our lives!

I’m Thankful that I’m able to extend myself to help others. Sunday, while my daughter was in Music Makers at Church, I helped the kids paint the set for their upcoming performance. When we were finished I met a mom who works part-time at the church in the children’s ministry. We got to talking and she asked if I would be willing to help with Sunday school. I said yes and for the remainder of this school year I will be a sub for the classes. Next year I will be a Sunday school teacher – they call them Shepherds! I’m excited to jump out of my comfort zone and become more involved. This can only lead to bigger and better things. I asked my husband if he wanted to do it too and he is considering it!

I’m Thankful for all of you who come by and leave me words of encouragement. And those of you who make me laugh reading your comments. And those of you who make me step back and think. I really appreciate all of YOU!!!
