Menu Plan Monday ~ October 8th

I’m so excited to get back to menu planning! I’m here to tell you that I have not been planning my menus for a few months now and I can honestly say that by planning out my menus I save A LOT of money and time!!! I hope to consistently plan my menus from here on out! Thanks to Laura for hosting Menu Plan Monday!!!

So, this week is Fall Break for us which means no ballet, no soccer, no cheerleading, etc. It will be so nice to have a home-cooked meal EVERY day this week!!!!!!!! 🙂  We have one, praise God, only one commitment this week and I’ll use that night to break out the slow cooker.

I received my new Food & Family magazine a few weeks ago and wanted to try every. single. recipe. right away. So, this week is a week full of new recipes. I love to do this from time to time ’cause we get so bored of the same things over and over again. I hope to let you know how they all turn out! By the way, if you don’t get the magazine I highly recommend you do so – it’s free and full of great recipes!

On to the Menu:

Monday:     Speedy Chicken Stir-Fry

Tuesday:     Roast Pork Tenderloin Supper

Wednesday:     Slow-cooker BBQ Pork Sandwiches served with Baked Basil Fries and Baked beans

Thursday:     Chicken in Creamy Pan Sauce served with peas & carrots & dinner rolls

Friday:     Chicken Parmesan Bundles served with butter noodles

Saturday:     Leftovers

Sunday:      Turkey sandwiches, chips, raw veggies and dip

Dessert for the week:     Peanut Butter Striped Delight

MPM ~ Week of 3/19

Hello all! This week went by with only a few hitches! 🙂 I’m glad to report that my husband had a great week at his new job. Overwhelming, but great! Our menu plans got a little mixed up this week: I switched a few things around, didn’t get to the Minute steaks, and we ended up having dinner at my mom’s for St. Patrick’s Day!

New recipes from last week’s menu:

Creamy Italian Chicken-we liked it. Kind of, but not really, reminded me of chicken alfredo. We’ll make it again!

Broiled Tilapia Parmesan-Yummy! I liked it more than my husband did, but it was really delicious! Definite keeper!

Tortilla Tostadas-These were pretty good. Next time I won’t make them with as much salsa and sour cream when they bake, but rather serve it on the side. Good nonetheless and we’ll have them again!

Hashbrown Casserole-This wasn’t on the menu for last week, but I ran out of potatoes and couldn’t make mashed potatoes. But, I had a bag of frozen hashbrowns in the freezer and everything else I needed to make these. Oh these were sooooooooo good. I can not make a habit out of serving these or we will all be as big as a house. But they are delicious!!!

Monday: Hubby is cooking tonight! YEAH! Chicken Monterey, not sure what side he’ll make!

Tuesday: Carrying over the Brushetta Minute Steaks, baked basil fries, and peas & carrots from last week

Wednesday: Hubby has softball practice and we are planning to go and play in the park  if the weather is nice so we’ll just be having some quick sandwiches with chips and fruit tonight!

Thursday: Baked salmon, sauteed veggies, and perogies!

Friday: Baked chicken, mac-n-cheese, green beans (all my daughters favorites)!

Saturday: Breakfast for dinner (possibly), I might change my mind!

Sunday: To Die for Roast with carrots and potatoes, salad, and dinner rolls (the recipe comes from Annie at My Life as Annie)!

Menu Plan Monday ~ 3/12-3/18

It’s that time again. Monday has once again slapped me right in the face. Where does the time go?

This weekend was a busy one for us and I am hoping this week will not be a very stressful week for us. But, my daughter is sick and will be going to the doctor. My husband starts his new job today. And, I do believe my son is trying to cut some more teeth. So, the stress level just might be elevated this week. Atleast my daughter is on Spring Break and I really hope she recovers quickly so we can get out and do some fun stuff this week!

The birthday party was a huge success and I’m hoping to have a post up on Tuesday for you all to see.

I wanted to let you all know that we tried Laura’s recipe for Sweet Aromatic Chicken. We thought it was very yummy and will be making it again. Thanks, Laura!

Now, on to this weeks menu:

Monday: Pork Chops, mashed potatoes, peas & carrots

Tuesday: Creamy Italian Chicken served over egg noodles with a salad (new recipe ~ Thanks to Tater & Tot)

Wednesday: Broiled Tilapia Parmesan, garlic butter rice and salad (new recipe ~ Thanks to Overwhelmed with Joy )

Thursday: Leftovers or sandwiches

Friday: Tortilla Tostadas, chips & salsa (new recipe ~ Thanks to UtahAlison…I couldn’t find the recipe when I went to her site today, but I have it written down if any of you want it!)

Saturday: I’m still looking for a St. Patrick’s Day style dinner (I’ll update when I figure it out)

Sunday: Bruschetta Minute Steaks*, baked basil fries, peas & carrots (*I made this once before and it was really good)

My husband has the week off this week and I’m looking forward to having some help around the house. He likes to cook, but doesn’t have a chance to do so during the week. So, I’m thinking he will probably be cooking some this week!!! I’m posting a tentative Menu so don’t hold me to it! 🙂

Monday: Spaghetti, salad, garlic bread (My daughters first night of ballet)

Tuesday: Baked Salmon, sauteed veggies, dinner rolls

Wednesday: Panko Chicken, baked basil fries, peas & carrots

Thursday: Beef Stir-fry

Friday: Leftovers (daughter’s birthday, but she will be at her friends party)

Saturday: Daughter’s Party is today! Not sure what we’ll do for dinner!

Sunday: Roast with potatoes, carrots, and green beans

Menu Plan Monday 2/19-2/25

Monday already? I was in quite a funk last week and boy I hope this week is better! 🙂 I missed last week, if you’re curious as to why you can read it here. If not that’s ok I was just busy busy!!! I went to the grocery store on Friday for this week with my menu all planned out! It was nice to be able to get it done early.

A couple of weeks ago I had Calzone Casserole on my menu which I had borrowed from An Iowa Mom. Well, we finally got to have it this past Friday and it was delicious!! It made Oh so much and I forgot to put up the leftovers. Oops! The only thing I did different was served it with marina for dipping. Delicious! Thanks An Iowa Mom!

This week I am trying several new recipes because I am getting tired of the same ole same ole!!! Some of them I took from Laura’s menu archives and some of them I took from Allrecipes. Since I haven’t tried them yet I’ll just put up a link to recipe instead of my own. Once I try them I’ll let you know how they were and what changes I made if any!

Monday: Maple Salmon with sauteed veggies and fruit salad

Tuesday: Crisp & Creamy Baked Chicken (from Laura’s archives) with peas & carrots and dinner rolls

Wednesday: Hearty hash brown dinner (from Laura’s archives)

Thursday: Zesty Slow Cooker BBQ Chicken with Roasted Potatoes(from Laura’s archives) and baked beans, also hoagies for the chicken

Friday: Spaghetti with salad and garlic bread

Saturday: Slow cooker Italian chicken with butter noodles and peas & carrots

Sunday: Hamburger gravy on toast with cheesy hashbrowns (southern style Ore-Ida’s)

Sounds like a yummy week around here!
